Renters post a free wanted-to-rent ad describing the home they need, their budget and move-in date. Landlords and letting agents on ByHomeOwner browse those ads, filter by address, street or neighbourhood, and reach out directly to the renters whose wishlist matches an available property.
Is it free to search and contact renters?
Browsing Interested Renters is free. Landlords and agents need a free ByHomeOwner account to unlock renter contact details — there are no commission fees or per-lead charges.
How are renters verified?
Every renter signs up with a verified email and phone number. Wanted-to-rent ads include budget, household size, preferred move-in date, and any employment or reference details the renter chooses to share up-front.
What happens after I submit the search form?
You'll see a live list of renters whose wishlist overlaps with the location and budget you entered. Open any wishlist for the full requirements, then use 'Contact renter' to send a message — the renter is notified by email and in-app.
I'm a renter — what happens after I post my wanted-to-rent ad?
Your ad goes live immediately and is shown to landlords and agents letting property in the areas you selected. You get notified whenever a matching landlord contacts you, and you can update, pause or delete your ad at any time.
